The Burden
As we look across South Orange County, and specifically at our home in San Clemente, we see a landscape crowded with religious activity but starving for the truth of God’s Word. We have a culture where “church” has been reduced to an hour of emotional entertainment, where the gravity of sin is ignored, and where the clear saving gospel is lost in a sea of worldly compromise.
We see churches that have traded the power of the Gospel for the praise of men. We see pulpits that have become stages for rock concerts where hymns are replaced with worldly rhythms. There’s women in leadership positions in direct violation of clear biblical instructions. This results in congregations that are being led by a feminized, emotional religion that has no power to save or sanctify. We even see “churches” that have allowed Marxist ideologies to displace the truth of Scripture, and across the board, institutions that have abandoned the King James Bible for weak modern versions that corrupt God’s Word.
The result is a weak generation that is spiritually illiterate. There is a lack of reverence, a total absence of hard preaching, and a complete abandonment of the Great Commission. There aren’t any churches in San Clemente that have soulwinning, and how could you when they aren’t even clear on the gospel. It’s a focus on comfort instead of the urgency to save souls that we see in the Bible. It is the kind of complacency that has allowed the disastrous muslim invasion of Europe, and why we see these dangerous cults beginning to flourish in the United States.
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
— 2 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)
Our Mission
We believe that the Lord has placed a burden upon our hearts to labor in this vineyard. Our mission through Good Fight Baptist—and hopefully through the establishment of a local, New Testament church—is to provide a place for those sick of the worldliness and compromise that fills our area.
What We Hope to Accomplish
We are seeking to encourage a called man of God to plant a church here. Our vision is for a local body of believers in San Clemente who:
- Are saturated in the Scriptures.
- Refuse to conform to the Marxist, feminized agenda that has infiltrated so many churches today.
- Are actively engaged in reaching the lost with the clear, unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”
— Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV)
