Statement of Faith

Good Fight Baptist stands upon the uncompromising truths of the Christian faith as found in the Bible.

I. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the King James Bible is the infallible, inerrant, and fully preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. It is the direct equivalent of the divinely preserved Hebrew Masoretic Text and the Greek Textus Receptus. We reject the errors of modern textual criticism and the flood of contemporary versions that undermine God’s Word. We likewise reject the heresy of “advanced revelation” or the notion that the KJV translators received a second, distinct inspiration.

Scripture References: 1 Peter 1:23-25; Proverbs 30:5-6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 5:18

II. The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. These three are one in essence, attributes, and power, yet distinct in office and operation. We reject the heresy of modalism (“Oneness”) which denies the eternal distinctiveness of the Father, Son, and Spirit.

Scripture References: 1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 14

III. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh who has always existed. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary (who did not remain a virgin after Jesus was born). He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for the sins of the whole world, was bodily resurrected, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.

Scripture References: 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 7:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21

IV. Salvation and Eternal Security

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone. Works—including baptism, church membership, or turning from sins—are not part of salvation. We reject the heresy of Calvinism, affirming instead that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Once a person is born again, they are eternally sealed by the Holy Spirit; their salvation can never be forfeited, for it rests on the promise of God, not the performance of man.

Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8-9; John 10:28-29; 2 Peter 3:9

V. The Local Church and Ordinances

We believe in the local, visible assembly of believers. We reject the “universal church” theory, promoted by the Catholic cult, which posits a mystical body of all believers across time; the Bible recognizes only individual congregations, led by a qualified pastor, with Christ as the head, until we are all gathered together in Heaven. We believe in believer’s baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This is an act of obedience, not a requirement for Heaven. We also believe the Lord’s Supper is the second ordinance given to the local church. It is to be observed by the assembly as often as they choose, in remembrance of the Lord’s death and to point forward to His coming.

Scripture References: Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41; Revelation 1:4; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 1 Corinthians 11:26

VI. The Reality of Hell and Premillennial Eschatology

We believe in a literal, burning Hell and Lake of Fire where the unsaved will suffer eternal, conscious torment. We believe in the premillennial return of Christ, that following His Second Coming He will establish a literal thousand-year kingdom upon the earth in which Satan will be bound and Christ will reign personally from Jerusalem. While we hold firmly to the premillennial position, we recognize that sincere, Bible-believing Christians may differ on the precise timing of the Rapture in relation to the Tribulation.

Scripture References: Revelation 20:14-15; Revelation 20:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Zechariah 14:9; Titus 2:13

VII. Sanctity of Life and Human Sexuality

We believe that life begins at conception. We reject all forms of abortion, including chemical abortifacients, morning-after pills, and the destruction of embryos via IVF. These processes end a human life. Furthermore, homosexuality and various offshoots such as “transgenderism” are vile sins and an abomination against our Creator—transgressions for which God says are worthy of death.

Scripture References: Psalm 139:13-16; Romans 1:26-32; Leviticus 20:13

VIII. Separation from Worldliness

We recognize our duty to be separate from the world, modernism, formalism, and liberalism. We reject the philosophies of this age that seek to infiltrate the church—specifically Marxism, feminism, and the feminization of the pulpit. We stand for the old paths, striving for reverence in worship, holiness in life, and an uncompromising stance for the truth.
